Air conference outlines need for later life industry evolution

Air held its fifth annual National Later Life Lending Conference last Thursday, where the content emphasised the importance for the sector to evolve in the face of new and emerging trends and shifting demographics of later life customers, especially individuals increasingly carrying mortgage debt into retirement.

The event, held at the Silverstone race circuit, offered attendees a day filled with sessions, networking opportunities, and insights into Air’s Comprehensive Conversations movement and the blueprint for the journey towards ‘safer tracks’. Former F1 world champion Damon Hill also shared his thoughts on the importance of innovation, resilience and seizing opportunities, both on and off the track.

Lender representatives and industry specialists engaged in panel discussions, exploring market shifts, strategies for advisers to position themselves to meet new challenges, and the resources available to support this evolution.

Finally, there were a number of breakout sessions hosted by a range of specialists which provided deeper dives into topics affecting the later life sector such as industry innovations, lead generation, and effective client conversations.

Paul Glynn, CEO at Air, said: “We’re delighted to have hosted our fifth-annual National Later Life Adviser Conference. Silverstone provided a stunning backdrop for what was a truly dynamic day. We are extremely grateful for those of our partners who hosted sessions and everybody who attended.

“At Air, we are committed to empowering our advisers, and our support framework has never been more crucial. As the market continues to undergo irreversible changes, it is essential that we equip the later life sector with the necessary tools and experience to address new challenges effectively.”
