Ageas’ underwriters achieves CII Chartered status

Published on

Ageas Insurance has been awarded Chartered status by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) to the company’s Underwriting division.

The insurer gained the status after meeting a number of criteria as set out by the CII, including an examination of Ageas’s development programmes and training and competence scheme, which form an integral part of the Ageas Underwriting Academy.

The Academy, launched three years ago, is designed to help Ageas Underwriters achieve technical excellence in all aspects of their roles. It has evolved into a mixture of tailored training programmes, bespoke e-learning and accelerated learning schemes.

The Academy firmly establishes the company’s commitment to professional and technical skills development within the Underwriting team and throughout the business.

Mark Cliff, Ageas Insurance managing director, said: “I am very proud of the team receiving CII Chartered status. This is a further demonstration of our commitment to high standards and our approach to professional development for our employees.

“We are also delighted that we have successfully achieved the Aldermanbury Declaration. Our brokers and their customers can be confident that they have chosen a company that invests heavily in its people in order to provide a high product and service offering.”

Dr. Alexander Scott, CEO of the CII, said: “Ageas has shown an ongoing commitment to developing professionalism in the insurance sector.

“We are delighted that the Underwriting division has now achieved Chartered status, demonstrating that it is proactively striving for professionalism, both as a driver of competitive advantage and as an important means of building confidence and trust.”
