Accord Mortgages has appointed four new business development managers (BDMs) and four new business development advisers (BDAs).

The new appointments will take Accord’s broker sales and service support team from 28 to 36.

The lender says the move represents the latest stage in a programme of changes planned to streamline Accord’s sales and service offering for the broker community. It follows an increase in processing staff of over 30% following a recruitment drive at the end of 2011.

Accord has reviewed the geographical areas covered by its sales teams and increased these from 14 to 18, meaning each BDM and BDA has a smaller area to cover.

Charles Canning, managing director at Accord, said: “Our team is slightly different to many other providers in that brokers in each geographical area have their own dedicated development manager in the field as well as a development adviser who is office based
