Vida now supports foreign nationals up to 90% LTV

Vida has launched a new range of residential mortgage products aimed at foreign nationals living and working in the UK.

Effective immediately, eligible applicants on a broad range of visa types will be able to access mortgage lending at up to 90% loan-to-value.

The change represents a significant broadening of Vida’s criteria and is designed to help more people secure homeownership despite the traditional barriers they may face when applying for mainstream mortgage finance.

The specialist lender said the new proposition aligns with its long-standing focus on inclusion and flexibility, especially for customers whose circumstances are not always well served by high street lenders.

The products are available on 2 and 5-year fixed rates and will be supported by Vida’s team of underwriters who adopt a case-by-case approach to assessment.

Ross Williams, head of products at Vida, said: “At Vida, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to own a home, regardless of their background or country of origin.

“Our new proposition for foreign nationals is a natural extension of our mission to help more people find a place to call home.

“We’re proud to support a diverse range of customers and provide real solutions that reflect the realities of modern life in the UK.”

The lender has also expanded its list of acceptable visa types to reflect the changing nature of the UK’s labour market and provide more options for those who are active contributors to the economy but may have struggled to access mortgage finance in the past.
