Andrew Bloom, managing director of Masthaven Group Ltd, the bridging and second charge lenders, is taking on the Tough Mudder challenge in order to raise money for charity, the Gaucher Association.

The Tough Mudder is a 10-12 miles obstacle course over open country and the event in which Bloom is entered is taking place this Saturday on 26 April at Henley on Thames.

Bloom said: “This is going to be quite a challenge but I am committed to getting to the end of the course. Gaucher’s disease is a little known genetic disorder that only effects 6,000 people worldwide. The charity supports individuals and families that suffer from Gaucher disease. This charity is very close to me, so much so I am both a director and the treasurer.

“This disorder directly affects my immediate family, hence I am asking people to be particularly generous. I am looking to raise £5000 and every donation will be gladly welcomed.

“So if the mental picture of me getting down and dirty as well as probably not being able to walk properly for a week afterwards appeals, then please help by going to my Just Giving page at https://www.justgiving.com/Andrew-Bloom-toughmudder.”
