The Right DA Club develops PMI offering

Published on

The Right DA Club has announced a number of initiatives focused on supporting adviser member firms in developing their Private Medical Insurance (PMI) sales propositions.

The club is now offering one-to-one introduction sessions, conducted by its PMI Supervision & Development Manager. The purpose of the session is to equip advisers with all the necessary skills and knowledge to become a Competent Adviser in the PMI field, within the Principles, Conduct Risk, Fair Treatment of Customers, and provide the best solutions and outcomes for clients.

As part of the session, advisers can expect to learn about the sales and renewal process, how to complete the ‘perfect’ file, the potential risks with the product, dealing with vulnerable clients, fraud protection, the different types of underwriting, and much more.

The Right DA can also provide sales observations and file checks for those advisers who have completed the session and want to ensure they are covering off everything they need to with PMI.

Next month, The Right DA Club is also offering a webinar session entitled, ‘GI, IP, PMI & Signposting in a Consumer Duty World’, hosted by Gary Harrison, national account manager, and Steven Howard, head of regulatory support.

Taking place on Thursday 22 August at 10am, the webinar will explore the growing market for those product areas, including how to access these sectors, how to find clients, what the latest and most effective strategies are to position these products with clients, mastering the art of signposting, and discussing Consumer Duty compliance considerations.

Those who attend the webinar will earn one hour of CPD.

Chelsea Kiefert (pictured), head of The Right DA Club, said: “We are almost at the one-year anniversary of Consumer Duty, and it’s been clear over the last 12 months, that there is a much greater expectation on advisory firms to cover off as many client financial wants and needs as possible, rather than simply offering mortgage advice and nothing else. This is why we believe it is vital advisers and their firms fully understand the product solutions that are available to meet those needs, especially in areas such as PMI, income protection, general insurance, but also many others.

“We are particularly focused on PMI right now, as this is a growing consideration for individuals, especially when we look at rising waiting lists, and the increased pressure being brought to bear on the NHS. Our 1-2-1 sessions, and next month’s webinar, have been specifically designed to open up this sector to advisers, to help them understand the client need, and how they as advisers can meet it, while ensuring they are fully-compliant.

“At The Right DA we are focused on delivering all the support and resources required by advisers to ensure they can make the most of this opportunity, and they can broaden their proposition, while ensuring they get the right outcome for the client. Any adviser/firm interested in developing their understanding in this area, should contact us to see how we can best support them.”
