Phoebus renews focus on community engagement and social responsibility

Phoebus Software has underscored its commitment to social responsibility with a renewed programme of community partnerships, educational outreach and charitable initiatives, as detailed in its latest ESG report.

The Solihull-based software firm, which provides servicing technology for the mortgage and savings sectors, has long maintained an active role in its local and professional communities. It has now deepened that commitment through an expanded series of engagements that reach well beyond its core operations.

Each year, Phoebus employees vote to select a charity of the year. For 2025, the team has chosen The Family Care Trust, a Solihull charity that has supported individuals with mental health conditions, learning disabilities and physical disabilities for over 25 years. Phoebus will support the organisation through a year-long programme of fundraising and volunteering.

The announcement follows a successful partnership in 2024 with Helping Hands, a Leamington-based charity supporting vulnerable individuals. Staff took part in meal preparation sessions and the business also funded new kitchen equipment. Employees are encouraged to volunteer, with each given a paid day annually to contribute to causes of their choice.

The company’s outreach extends into education and skills development, particularly in the technology space. Phoebus has supported Aston University’s Computer Science Industry Club for nine years, offering guest lectures, help with CV writing and student placements. The long-running collaboration is designed to support undergraduates as they prepare to enter the workforce and to ensure closer ties between academia and the software sector.

Meanwhile, its partnership with Agile West Midlands has enabled it to run ‘Talking Tech’, a series of regular knowledge-sharing events intended to foster innovation and encourage professional development among local tech professionals.

Kate Langton (pictured), chief people officer at Phoebus, said the initiatives are a core part of the company’s broader ESG strategy. “This is something that we, as a leadership team, are fully committed to,” she said. “Partnerships like Family Care Trust and our educational collaborations are central to our ESG strategy, ensuring that our impact is meaningful and far-reaching.”
