FSE Manchester reveals Academy seminar details

Financial Services Expo (FSE) Manchester has announced the line-up for the Shawbrook Bank Academy which will host a number of seminars focused on the specialist lending market.

The Shawbrook Bank Academy will again be providing exhibition attendees with information on a range of product areas including secured loans, commercial mortgages, finance for the self-employed, and near-prime customers.

The Academy will cover issues such as technology, with a particular focus on sourcing, plus regulation, ongoing support and exploring new business opportunities.

FSE Manchester will be held once again at The Emirates – Old Trafford in Manchester on Wednesday 20th May and will provide visitors with access to over 40 exhibitors including lenders, distributors, networks, insurance providers, technology companies, and many more.

The full range of seminar sessions taking place throughout the whole day and hosted in the Shawbrook Bank Academy, include:

  • Mark Wilson from Iress covering the technology perspective and how the changes in the mortgage market are shaping today’s sourcing systems.
  • Lauren Bagley from TMA analysing the existing and future market opportunities advisers should be accessing.
  • Lee Albino from Shawbrook Commercial Mortgages delivering a snapshot of the commercial lending landscape set against the backdrop of the UK economy.
  • Claire Rankin from Shawbrook Secured Loans will be providing a guide to second charge mortgages and the impact European Mortgage Credit Directive will have on your business.
  • Marie Grundy from V Loans looking at the value of the master broker in developing advisers’ specialist lending proposition.
  • Jon Round from The Loan Packager revealing the role of the commercial packager and how they can work for advisers.
  • Roger Morris from Precise Mortgages covering the market for self-employed mortgages and near-prime customers, and how advisers can convert more leads.

The Shawbrook Bank Academy complements the seminar presentations put together by the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI) which also includes a key-note address by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

James Prosser, director of Front Events, organisers of FSE Manchester, said: “We are incredibly appreciative of the support provided by Shawbrook Bank for all the FSE events and, given the success of the Academy at FSE Glasgow, it is absolutely right that FSE Manchester attendees have access to the wonderful range of sessions on offer. Shawbrook have pulled together a range of industry experts who will each cover a specific part of the specialist lending sector, which is a growing part of the overall mortgage market and one which clearly requires specialist and up-to-date knowledge.

“The Academy has been set-up to provide adviser education, support and guidance which is why it will not only look at specific product areas but also how firms can ensure they are up to date technologically, aware of the regulatory changes, plus how they can convert leads into sales, and make the most of the existing and future business opportunities in this particular part of the market.

“With the Academy sessions plus our other seminar presentations put together by AMI, and the range of exhibitors available, FSE Manchester is set-up to provide everything an adviser could want from such an event. We are looking forward to once again having the advisory community in the North under one roof in Manchester on the 20th May. It promises to be an incredibly busy and beneficial day for all who attend.”
