Bank of Ireland for Intermediaries has announced a new partnership with UK Business Mentoring, aimed at supporting brokers not only in their professional roles but in the wider challenges of running and scaling a successful business.
The initiative reflects the bank’s recognition that the demands placed on intermediaries now stretch well beyond the act of brokering itself. As firms contend with evolving client expectations, regulatory shifts and an increasingly competitive market, the programme is intended to offer practical support in developing leadership skills and strengthening commercial acumen.
The Business Mentoring programme will deliver a combination of face-to-face and virtual events. These will include workshops focused on key aspects of business management, insight sessions hosted by seasoned mentors, and podcasts delivering practical advice. Intermediaries will also have access to one-to-one mentoring, enabling tailored guidance on both personal and professional development.
According to the bank, many of the sessions will be made available digitally, allowing a broader range of intermediary businesses to take advantage of the resources, regardless of location or schedule.
COMMITMENT
Alan Longhorn, head of mortgage sales and business development at Bank of Ireland for Intermediaries, said the programme underlines the bank’s commitment to helping its partners flourish amid ongoing market change.
“We’re committed to helping our partners thrive in a rapidly evolving landscape and our partnership with UK Business Mentoring is about equipping intermediaries with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to help them grow and succeed,” he said. “This programme will also provide tangible development to support businesses in an ever changing landscape, providing opportunities for people to put their future business leaders forward for growth and development within our fantastic industry.”
The partnership comes as increasing attention is being paid to the sustainability and long-term growth of intermediary firms. With many smaller practices seeking ways to future-proof their operations and upskill their teams, the bank’s initiative is likely to be welcomed across the sector.
UK Business Mentoring has a strong track record in delivering training and coaching to SME owners, with a particular emphasis on practical strategies for business growth, leadership and team development. Their involvement brings structured expertise to a segment of the mortgage market that often lacks access to formal training of this nature.
