All CPSP passes for Brightstar employee cohort

The Brightstar Group has achieved a 100% pass rate for team members undertaking the Certified Practitioner in Specialist Property Finance (CPSP) qualification.

The specialist distributor, which includes Brightstar Financial, Sirius Finance, and Solstar, has already seen success with its first cohort of employees and is now supporting a second group of professionals through the programme.

Once this latest group completes their studies, a total of 28 team members across the business will hold the CPSP qualification.

Currently, 100% of the Commercial, Residential, and Buy-to-Let teams have passed the qualification. In addition, every member of the Bridging and Sales teams is either CPSP-qualified or actively studying for certification.

An example from the first cohort is Billie Cox, who joined the business as an 18-year old on a summer work placement. She quickly progressed through the ranks, becoming a Team Leader for the Bridging and Commercial team. After supporting the Group’s top-performing broker and gaining experience in complex transactions, Cox (pictured) joined the New Adviser Programme and became the second person in the Group to complete the CPSP in February 2024. She has now achieved her goal of becoming a broker, joining the Sirius team.

She said: “To anyone in the specialist property finance industry considering the CPSP, my advice is simple: do it. This qualification isn’t just for brokers—it benefits anyone involved in the sector, from lenders to valuers and solicitors. It provides a holistic understanding of the entire funding process, enabling better collaboration and improved outcomes in complex, fast-paced transactions.

“The time commitment is manageable, and the insights gained are invaluable for building confidence and expertise. For me, the CPSP has been much more than a certificate—it has been a pathway to greater understanding, deeper connections with clients, and exciting new opportunities in my career.”

Brightstar Group CEO Rob Jupp has also successfully completed the CPSP qualification, adding: “When the CPSP was first announced, I was determined that the Brightstar Group would lead from the front in supporting our people to study for and achieve the qualification.

“We already have 16 team members, including myself, who have qualified and we expect this number to double in the coming weeks. The CPSP qualification is a benchmark for excellence in specialist property finance, and I am incredibly proud of our team’s dedication to achieving it.

“This is another example of our ongoing commitment to continuous professional development and ensuring our team is equipped with the knowledge and expertise to deliver the best possible outcomes for clients.”
